To **customize the record data sidebar**, you choose which fields appear beside an open card and in what order. Instead of every field on the record, the panel shows only what that process actually needs.

## Why showing everything shows nothing

A sidebar listing every field is technically complete and practically useless.

- Important dates buried among system fields
- Irrelevant information competing for attention
- Fields that make no sense for this particular process
- Users scrolling a panel meant for quick reference

## What to keep and what to cut

| Keep | Cut |
| ------------------------------- | ------------------------------------ |
| **Forecast and due dates** | System fields like "last updated" |
| **Client or contact** | The title, already shown on the card |
| **Current phase** | Fields irrelevant to this process |
| **Fields driving the decision** | Anything nobody reads in practice |

## How to configure it in Jestor

1. Open the form editor in **Jestor** and find the record data section.
2. Click the edit icon on that panel.
3. Remove the fields that add no value for this process.
4. Reorder what remains, putting the most important information at the top.
5. Save — the sidebar now shows less, but more of what matters.

## Why choose Jestor for card readability?

**Jestor** applies this per form, which means the same underlying record can present differently in different processes. A finance view and an operations view of the same data show different sidebars.

Less information in the panel makes the important fields findable, which is the entire point of a reference sidebar.

## Frequently Asked Questions
