To **design action buttons**, separate them from the fields people fill. A button competing for attention with twenty inputs is a button people miss or press by mistake.

## What goes wrong with buttons

They are added to the form and disappear into it.

- Approval buttons lost among input fields
- Actions visible in phases where they do nothing
- The same button meaning different things at different stages
- Irreversible actions placed next to routine ones

## How to place them

- **In their own panel**, separate from the input fields
- **Visible only where relevant**, hidden by conditional in other phases
- **Labelled by outcome**, not by mechanism
- **Coloured deliberately**, with irreversible actions distinguished
- **Grouped**, so related actions sit together

## How to configure it in Jestor

1. Create a dedicated action panel on the open card in **Jestor**, using Super Form.
2. Give it its own background colour so it reads as separate from the inputs.
3. Use conditionals to hide buttons in phases where they would do nothing.
4. Place the approval and rejection buttons together, distinct from routine actions.
5. Set reference panels to read-only so only the action panel invites interaction.

## Why choose Jestor for card design?

**Jestor** allows several independent forms on one open card, each with its own styling and conditionals, which is what makes a dedicated action area possible.

Because conditionals apply to whole panels, the action area can disappear entirely once a decision has been taken — leaving no button to press by mistake.
