To **filter and audit users** on an account with hundreds of people, you need two filters: what type of user someone is, and whether they are still active.

## Why user lists become unmanageable

A flat list of every person who ever had access answers nothing useful.

- No way to see only builders, or only members
- Removed users indistinguishable from current ones
- Permissions reviewed by scrolling rather than filtering
- Role IDs missing from exports, making analysis harder

## What the user list should show

- **Active status**, distinguishing current users from removed ones
- **Photo and name**, so people are identifiable at a glance
- **Role**, showing what permissions they carry
- **Email**, copyable directly from the list
- **User type** — builder, member, or viewer, each with its own icon

## How to use it in Jestor

1. Open the user management area in **Jestor**.
2. Filter by status to see active users, inactive ones, or all.
3. Filter by type to isolate builders, members, or viewers.
4. Click an email address to copy it without opening the record.
5. Open roles to review each one, including its ID.

## Why choose Jestor for access governance?

**Jestor** marks removed users as inactive rather than deleting them, which preserves the historical record of who did what — a deleted user would leave orphaned references across the history.

Role IDs are now visible in the roles area, which closes a gap: exported user lists previously lacked the identifier needed to match them against roles.
