How Do I Track Contractor Work Orders Across Several Buildings?
You track them by creating a work order record for each job, with the building, scope, contractor, cost, and deadline, and by monitoring all orders in a single dashboard. On Jestor, this runs through a work orders table with status and cost fields.
Managers who handle several buildings often juggle many contractors at once. Without a central view, deadlines slip, costs grow, and nobody is sure which jobs are really finished.
What scattered work orders cost
- Jobs delayed without anyone noticing
- Costs above the agreed amount discovered late
- Contractors paid without confirmation of completion
- No comparison of contractor performance
How work order tracking works
- Each job is a work order with building, scope, and budget
- Status moves from approved to in progress to completed
- Completion is confirmed with photos before payment approval
- A dashboard shows open orders, delays, and spending by building
Why Jestor fits this use case
- A central view prevents jobs from being forgotten
- Completion checks protect against paying for unfinished work
- Spending by building supports budget control
- This scales from a few buildings to a large portfolio
