How to automatically sync jestor with Asana using Zapier

Asana is one of the most used tools to manage projects and task control. But even being a very efficient software, it doesn’t have important functionalities from other platforms, such as jestor, which allows you to centralize all task information and organize it efficiently for all employees and areas of a company.

For this reason, it can be very interesting for your business operation to connect these two platforms and create an automatic relationship between them, in which information is sent instantly.

Walkthrough: Connecting Asana to jestor?

1º) Open jestor, go to the "+" icon on the left menu, choose the option "Table", name it “Asana Tasks'' and press "Create". Then, add new fields clicking on the column header name with a "+" and following the steps below:

  • Keep the “name” field;
  • Add a single selection field, name it “Priority” and add the following items on the list: “High” and “Low”;
  • Add a connect table field, name it “Project” and connect to the tab that you manage the projects, like “Asana Projects”;
  • In the 3 dots on the upper right corner, click on “Select fields” and check to unhide the “Created at” field;

2º) Go to Zapier. You can access it on jestor by clicking on the “Zapier '' button in the left menu.

3º) In “Search for apps to connect”, look for Asana and click on the connect button.

4º) In “Select a trigger”, choose “Completed Task''. In “Select an Action'', choose “Create Record''. Then, click on “Connect jestor + Asana''.

5º) In “Choose an account…”, select your Asana account and click on “Continue”.

6º) To set up the trigger, in “Workspace” select the option referring to the Asana workspace and in “Project” select the referred project. Click on “Continue”.

7º) Check if the connection is working by marking a task as done on Asana. Then, clicking on “Test Trigger” on Zapier. If all goes well, you’ll see a successful message. Click on “Continue”.

8º) In “Action Event”, if “Create Record” is selected click on “Continue”.

9º) Select your account in “Choose an account…”. Click on “Continue”;

10º) In “Choose value…”, select the option “Asana Tasks”.

11º) Now, set the parameters as follows:

  • Name;
    • Select the task that was completed.
  • Priority;
    • Look for “High” and select the item “1. Custom Fields… High”
  • Project.
    • Select the item “1. Project Name…”.

Click on “Continue” and then “Test & Continue”.

12º) ) Check if the test runs successfully by checking if the card was created on jestor correctly. If all goes well, click on “Turn on Zap'' to activate the connection.

You can create this same automation for other cases, such as tasks with medium priority, for example.
