How do you map WhatsApp conversation fields to automatically generate cards?

In Jestor, once WhatsApp is enabled on a table, you need to match the conversation's data — phone, name, attachments, and stage — to the table's corresponding fields, so each message automatically generates a card.

How the mapping works

After creating the fields on the table (for example, phone, attachments, and a single-select field for stage), Jestor asks you to match each one to the equivalent piece of conversation data: the person's phone number goes to the phone field, the name goes to the card's title field, images and files exchanged feed the attachments field, and the conversation's status is controlled by the stage field.

Conversation data Table field
Phone Phone field
Contact name Card title field
Images and files Attachments field
Conversation status Stage field (single select)

How to set up the mapping

  1. Create the phone, attachments, and stage (single select) fields on the table.
  2. Enable WhatsApp for that table.
  3. Match each created field to its corresponding conversation data.
  4. Set up the status stages, such as new conversation, in progress, closed, and archived.

Why choose Jestor

  • Automatic cards: every new message arrives already organized, with no manual typing.
  • Structure built to fit: fields can be adapted to any process, whether it's a CRM or support desk.
  • Complete history: attachments and exchanged messages always stay linked to the right card.

Do you have to use exactly four fields for the mapping?

The fields mentioned (phone, title, attachments, and stage) are the typical ones used, but the structure can be adapted to fit the needs of the process.

Can the attachments field hold more than one file per conversation?

Yes, as more files are exchanged in the conversation, the attachments field keeps being fed with each new item.

Can this mapping be used on more than one table?

Yes, but each WhatsApp number can only be linked to one table at a time.
