What's the Best Way to Track In-Progress Grant Proposals?
The best way is to give every proposal a structured status field moving through drafting, internal review, and submission, visible to the whole development team. On Jestor, this runs through a grant proposal Pipe with structured stages.
Grant proposals in development, tracked informally across individual drafts and email threads, make it hard to know how close a specific proposal actually is to being submission-ready.
What untracked proposal development costs
- No clear sense of how close a specific proposal actually is to submission
- Proposals stalling in drafting without anyone noticing the delay
- Difficulty coordinating input from multiple contributors on the same proposal
- Risk of a submission deadline approaching with a proposal still unfinished
How tracking in-progress proposals works
- Every proposal moves through defined stages: drafting, review, submission
- A dashboard shows exactly where every active proposal currently stands
- Multiple contributors can collaborate on the same proposal record
- Stalled proposals surface clearly, with enough time to accelerate before a deadline
Why Jestor fits this use case
- Structured stages make proposal progress visible instead of ambiguous
- Collaborative tracking supports multiple contributors working the same proposal
- Stalled proposals surface with time to act, not discovered near the deadline
- This scales from a handful of proposals to an organization pursuing many grants
